Bubble Made Imagination formed in Athens, OH in 2001 when Andy Dunfee had more songs than his band, Loesha the Swan Goddess, could use. He borrowed a drum kit and, with a four-track recorder and home computer, did the first album, Splitting Needs Down to Infinity.

In Columbus, OH, from 2002-2006, with the same DIY attitude, he would craft three albums-worth of quirky, lo-fi, rock songs about death, infinity, love of the imaginary, and drunken dance parties, including the songs Party People, We’ve All Passed Away, and My Devil is Bleeding Me.

After a career change, 2006 marked a move to Denver, CO and the start of a quiet decade for music. A few tracks were cut, notably Where Our Memories Keep and Hip Hop Album Track 1, but life focused on work, travel, and the bar scene.

By 2016, Andy was back in Columbus, OH and, after joining forces with local folk/punk band, Them Labs, the creative juices flowed, Bubble Made Imagination was resurrected, and new songs were written. One more move (after Andy and his wife had a baby) later, a studio was built where the album, My Devil, was recorded and mixed.

My Devil is a ten-song LP 70% about death, 20% about bears, and 10% about cereal and each song is about something:

Just a Word focuses on the inevitability and uncertainty of death. “Until it happens to you, it’s just a word.”

Me and Bubble is a short story about a love affair, the birth of a moon child, who also happens to be a bear, and being alone in a small town.

Everyone Ever explores the fear and acceptance of the singularity.

Still Love has a simple message, best captured from the lyrics: “…our heart, soul and mind are black, but we can still love.”

Your Pretty Hat is a song about a bear, plain and simple.

Karmic Justice tells a story about a guy that did something wrong and later had to deal with the consequences.

Natural Causes is a literary trip into the imagination.

Sweet Monster is an ode to a time when it was okay to give your child a big bowl full of sugar and set them in front of the TV for hours of cartoons.

Sickness Stuck Inside is about the dog that couldn’t go wee one day.

Gonna Die is about the inevitable conclusion of this planet when the sun finally explodes.
